CAHR Scholarships

The Canadian Association for Healthcare Reimbursement (CAHR) is pleased to offer scholarships to support academic activities that will lead to a career in market access within the Canadian healthcare industry.

Three (3) grants per year of $5,000* each, payable directly to the recipient.

  • The funding is intended to defray costs associated with the student’s schooling, including direct costs (e.g. tuition, research assistance, supplies, etc.), and also living expenses
  • The successful applicants will be invited to attend a CAHR event to receive public recognition

The full application must be received by the CAHR office by the established annual deadlines.

The scholarship was established by the CAHR Board of Directors in 2015 to encourage the development of expertise in areas of study relevant to market access.

  • Students must be registered in a graduate school (Master’s program) at one of the participating post-secondary institutions selected by CAHR
  • If the student has been granted other funds in support of operating costs associated with their education, they must indicate this in their application budget and clearly show that no overlap of grant funds will occur
  • Applicants do not need to be a CAHR member
  • Previous applicants are welcome to apply again

  • CAHR will evaluate applications according to:
           a) the student’s qualifications/research background
           b) academic excellence
  • The recipient must acknowledge CAHR 2019 Scholarship in publications and presentations associated with research for which the funding is provided

  • A one-page budget with a detailed explanation of how the funds will be used, unique from any other grant funds you may have received and without overlap of those funds. The budget must include a list of all other grant funds held in support of your education.
