The Canadian Association of Healthcare Reimbursement Professionals (CAHR) is pleased to announce its first webinar as part of its education services for members.

CAHR’s inaugural webinar will host experts in regulatory evaluations and health technology assessments at the forefront in providing innovative pharmaceutical manufacturers with early scientific advice. These programs aim to provide important information on healthcare system needs and evaluator expectations to help guide applications for marketing authorization and reimbursement.

Health Canada and the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health (CADTH) have evolving early advice initiatives. Both organizations are increasing collaboration and working on developing parallel processes with the goal of influencing the generation of complete and relevant evidence early in the drug development plan to meet the needs of both the Canadian regulator and health technology assessment perspectives.

The webinar will give participants a close up view of how the processes work, and how to engage with Health Canada and CADTH to ensure they are meeting the needs of manufacturers and health systems.

The webinar will be moderated by Bill Dempster, CEO of 3Sixty Public Affairs, and will include:

  • Lindsay Blaney, Senior Advisor to the Director General, Biologics and Genetic Therapies Directorate, Health Products and Food Branch, Health Canada

  • Amy Sood, Scientific Advisor and Lead, Scientific Advice Program, Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health

  • Don Husereau, Health Policy and Technology Assessment Consultant, with experience in evaluating early advice programs in Canada and globally

There will be an opportunity for an interactive questions and answers period, and we encourage everyone in the CAHR community with an interest in early scientific advice to attend.
